Kelly Ripa's TLC Women Inventor Casting Call

There are thousands of women inventors out there who were part of the casting call for Kelly Ripa's latest show on TLC. Whether you sent in a video or actually traveled to the casting call, I would love to hear your story.

I traveled from Seattle to Chicago with my invention and recumbent bike in hand ready to dazzle. I'm not the most confident person, but I was determined to showcase my invention. Even though the experience was quick and somewhat confusing.....(the all elusive green card, which I didn't receive) I met the most amazing women in the process. We have formed a small network of support to help each other become successful through our inventions. I look forward to hearing other experiences across the country and if you have received the much anticipated call that you've made it to the next step.

Thanks Tracy for connecting! The more support we can all give each other the more success our products will have. Feel free to add links to anything you want me to promote. I would be happy to add it as a posting.

It was great talking with you Jen as always. I'm here for support. I know how scary and exciting all of this can be. I'm available all week to chat. Good luck!!!

I too traveled clear across the country with my invention in hand. I only had one flight and one casting that I could make. Wouldn't you know it I live in Pa. and I had to go to LA! But, what an experience. I got my green card and was thrilled to do my demonstration as I'm sure all of you were. Now, the waiting is a killer.

I think the waiting is the toughest thing for everyone. It's nice just to know either way. I'm not holding by breath. I really hope someone from our network makes it and can keep us posted on the experience.

Hi Ladies,

Mary Scarlett here. I too am an inventor. Always have been. I have seen several of my ideas come to be to others simply because I didn't have the means or no how to get it out to the public.

I too entered the TLC Woman Inventors Contest - not once, not twice, not three times but four times. Yes that's four different inventions with working prototypes. All of my entries were done seperately and mailed to milojo with the all important Invention form and disclosure agreement. I fel as though my chances are probably a little better than most only because I have multiple entries. And also I found that the form could not hold the necessary information to fill it out with personality and so I emailed milojo about the problem and they sent me a new form. Did anyone else find this to be true? And last i read on Tracy's blog that she heard that all the positions had been filled? Do we have confirmation yet from headquaters on that one? Boo-hoo!!
I don't think they have finished reviewing the entries yet. If you go to their site they just posted (about the same time as Tracy's blog) that they would be contacting the chosen women over the next couple of months. Which leads me to believe that they are not done deciding yet. Right?

I know I'm just trying to hold onto the dream a little longer. Ya know. You can email me directly at emailmeplz@comcast.net.

About two weeks ago I received a call from Milojo asking for an electronic photo of me and one of photo of my invention. Not sure if this means anything or not so was wondering if anyone else shared the same experience and if so, what has happened since.

I'm glad your experience was a positive one as well. I truly feel that I went to the casting call to meet the peope that I did. I'm really hoping that there is some sort of letter that Milojo sends out to everyone that attended the casting calls to let them know that they didn't make it to the next level. Sometimes it's nice to just know either way. The waiting and mixed messages have been tough on many of us. Good luck and keep us posted if you hear anything.

Does anyone know when the next casting will be and will it be held in the same areas

Hi Jennifer-
As far as I know they won't be holding any more casting calls...at least not any time soon. You may be able to send in a video still, but I think they have plenty of admissions to pool from. Hopefully someone will comment if they know something different. You're probably better off getting your invention out there on your own with our support. Good luck.
