Poem for Giada De Laurentiis

"Giada and the Royals"
(for Giada De Laurentiis)

Giada, Giada...
...please cook for the Prince
He's playing some polo...
...(and) there's food you must mince

Giada, Giada...
...the Princess needs lunch
She's watching the ponies...
...(she) needs something to munch

Giada, Giada...
...crostini, so bright
Your guests, they will rave...
...(at) this toasted delight

Giada, Giada...
...chopped salad with shrimp
The Princess is looking...
...(take) a moment to primp

Giada, Giada...
...Chicken Milanese
The Royals will love it...
...(and) applaud (your) expertise

Giada, Giada...
...the Prince will be late
He's playing a match...
...please save him a plate

Giada, Giada...
...your best you have shown
(a) Taste of California...
...for the heir to the Throne

Inventor Reality Show Casting Call

Deadline June 15, 2011
U.S. Residents Only
Hollywood Producer is looking for men and women inventors that have a viable product for a pilot for a reality series.  There are many inventors with products that have great potential. Many times, individuals with an “it” product are undercapitalized and over budgeted and can’t afford a consultant to help them take their product to the next level.  We are looking for clever inventors that currently HAVE a product.  You must have a tangible product that for various reasons may need revamping or is in need of the right person to help you get it placed on the shelves of leading retail chains.  You must have a big personality or unique characteristics and a clever invention that you think has the "it" factor.  Have you gotten through to a retail buyer but they hated your packaging - even though you thought is was perfect?  Do you just have a great product but can't seem to get through to the retailers to get it placed on their shelves?  Have you spent all of your money trying to market it with no real results?  You get the idea! We want great stories with clever product and big personalities.

Phase 1 Casting Submission Requirements
Producers are looking for people who think they have the "it factor" with their invention.
  • U.S. Resident
  • Must be 18 - 60 years and older
  • Casting is open to men and women
  • An inventor with a product currently on the market
  • Clever story with great backstory
Submission Instructions
  • Upload your casting video to YouTube and send us the link.
  • Your video must not be more than two-three minutes in length.  You must be able to show us who you are and your product and what it does within 3 minutes.  Videos will not be considered that are longer than 3 minutes.  By submitting your videos you agree that you are submitting your video for casting purposes for producers to look at.  Videos are for casting only.
  • Include in your video: who you are, where you live, product info (show us anything visual), why you would make a great candidate for the show and your problem with the invention.
  • Next Post on YouTube
  • Email the link to Producers info@womentorz.com with a brief description that includes: your name, phone number, email and any contact information so we can contact you if we would like to take you to Phase 2 of the casting process.
  • Deadline for submissions: June 15th and please no emails off topic.  Thank you.
We will contact you if you've moved on to Phase 2 of the casting call process.  At that point we will have you send us the original video file as well as a completed application to be considered for the show.  Thank you for your submission!

10 Fun Family Ideas for Earth Day

While Earth Day is about serious matters, why not use it as an opportunity to enjoy your family and focus on fun activities too.
Here are 10 Earth Day ideas everyone can enjoy.

1.     Play Pin the tree on the Earth
One thing the Earth needs is more trees, right? They're being cut down faster than they can be planted. Playing this game is a great way to explain the issue to kids and inspire them (and you, to take action).
This homemade game is made from Ecospun felt (from recycled plastic bottles), but you could make one out of paper if you prefer.
The winning player can be the one who pins the tree closest to North or South America or in an ocean without touching land.

2. Go on an Earth Day Treasure hunt
Write a series of clues on pieces of recycled or pre-used paper, leading from your home around the neighborhood to a "treasure chest" containing some organic treats or small treasures like polished rocks and seashells. The clues should focus on the outdoors and be tailored to the age of the children.

3. Read eco books together. Find a nice nearby tree, sit together beneath it. Read and discuss a meaningful book with an environmental theme like The Giving Tree. Here's a list of great titles for kids of every age.

4. Visit an organic farm, preferably one with animals if you've got kids in tow. Find one near you at www.LocalHarvest.org

5. Volunteer! There are many organizations that will welcome families with children of all ages.

6. Download an Earth Day kit from the EPA. It's filled with loads of ideas for fun activities.

7. As a family, take the 5-minute quiz at Practically Green. Find out how green you are and choose three actions that will improve your score.

8. Start a garden. If you've never done it before or don't have room, just fill a container with the best dirt you can find (be sure the container has drainage). Follow the directions on a package of mixed greens. You'll be nibbling lettuce very quickly. (And a secret you might not know. Children who grow veggies, actually tend to eat them even when they claim not to like them!)
Or plant some trees. You can get 10 trees for free when you join the Arbor Day Foundation.

9. Go no waste for the day. That means no purchasing anything in a package or at least, reusing or recycling any packaging, newspaper or anything else possible. It also means not tossing food scraps. If you don't want to eat it, compost, put into the freezer for later soup making, share it with neighbors, anything but throw it into the trash. Who knows, maybe you'll make a habit of no waste!

10. Do a recycled craft. Make birdhouses from milk cartons. Craft a solar oven from a pizza box (or any cardboard box). Download a list of endangered species and create your own hand drawn calendar. Empty out a drawer each, but instead of throwing away what's you don't want, challenge yourselves to make something from it!

Whatever you do on Earth Day, spend a bit of time noticing what nature gives us and give a little something back!

Gifting Opportunity to Alyssa Milano

We loved Alyssa Milano on Who’s the Boss and have watched her blossom into a beautiful woman, and now we can watch her blossoming into a wonderful mother.  Alyssa and husband David Bugliari are expecting their her first child, a baby boy.  Here’s a message she recently posted:

As fun as it was reading all of your gender predictions on Twitter, I’m really bad at keeping secrets and had to share (not to mention, I was bound to unintentionally slip at some point). David and I are elated to announce that we are having a baby boy.  We can’t wait to meet him.  Boys names, anyone? Leave me suggestions in the comments!

Peace,
Light,
And Love,
Alyssa, David and Baby(boy) Bugliari

Celeb Hoopla personally spoke with Alyssa’s mother who is very excited about us honoring her daughter.  I can now see why Alyssa seems like such a sweet person.

Here are the details of the gifting:

    * Only 10 spots available
    * $75 per product
    * Deadline to reserve your spot – April 6th
